Joint Injections

Intra-articular joint injections are a common procedural technique performed in Sports Medicine.  Injections into shoulder, knee, elbow, ankle and wrist joints may provide significant and immediate pain relief from inflammation and "flare-ups".

Typical medications used for injections include corticosteroids (Zilretta®), a powerful anti-inflammatory medication, and visco-supplementation (SYNVISC®), which may alleviate osteoarthritic pain long term.

Many joint injections are now performed under live ultrasound (US) guidance to ensure proper needle placement, helping in reduction of procedural discomfort and confirmation of medicine delivery.

US guided injections are being offered by Dr Wu, who has been fellowship trained in US guided injections.
